Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has returned to training with Bayer Leverkusen ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen.
The Nigerian forward joined his teammates in Friday’s training session after recovering from the minor injuries he sustained in a car accident last weekend. Softfootball understands that Boniface is now in contention to feature for the Bundesliga champions against Ole Werner’s side at the Weserstadion.
The 23-year-old was involved in a ghastly road accident on Sunday but escaped with only minor injuries.

As a result, he was unavailable for Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League clash against Brest earlier this week.
His return to training comes as a major boost for manager Xabi Alonso, who could welcome the striker back into his matchday squad for the trip to Bremen.
Speaking ahead of the game, Alonso said a final decision on Boniface’s availability would be taken after assessing him during the team’s last training session.
The Spanish coach also expressed confidence in the depth of his squad, stressing that every player is ready to contribute whenever called upon.
Boniface has been a key figure for Leverkusen this season, and his possible return will strengthen the club’s attacking options as they continue the defence of their Bundesliga title.
