Former Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has admitted that leaving the Gunners for Fulham was the toughest decision he has ever made.
Softfootball understood that the 24-year-old opted to leave his boyhood club in search of regular first-team football after struggling for playing time over the past two seasons due to injuries and intense competition for places.
Since completing his £34 million move to Fulham in the summer, Smith Rowe has enjoyed an impressive start, contributing two goals and one assist in his opening seven Premier League appearances.

The midfielder explained that his desire to rediscover happiness and play consistently ultimately influenced his decision. Although he always wanted to put Arsenal first, he felt it was the right time to prioritise his own career after discussing the move with his family.
Smith Rowe also admitted it was difficult watching Arsenal’s title challenge from the sidelines after working hard to recover from injury. Despite his departure, he insisted there are no hard feelings, revealing that he still supports Arsenal, remains in contact with several former teammates, and wishes the club continued success.
