Sandro Tonali has already given the green light to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, Softfootball understands.
Broad personal terms are understood to be in place between the Italian midfielder and Spurs, with club-to-club negotiations with Newcastle United continuing.
Tottenham entered the race for Tonali earlier this month after appointing Roberto De Zerbi, who has identified the Italy international as one of his priority targets as he looks to rebuild the squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
However, securing Tonali’s signature will not be straightforward. Newcastle are believed to value the midfielder between £85 million and £100 million, reflecting his importance to the club and his proven Premier League pedigree since returning from suspension.

Manchester United have also monitored Tonali’s situation, while reports earlier this year suggested the midfielder would assess his future following the end of the campaign.
According to reports, Tottenham’s lucrative wage package has played a major role in attracting both Tonali and Bruno Fernandes, although negotiations between the clubs are still ongoing and no agreement has yet been reached.
