Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen has returned to training on grass after a short injury layoff.

Softfootball added that the Galatasaray striker is now working his way back to full fitness after missing recent matches for both club and country.

Osimhen sustained a muscle injury during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig last month.

The 25-year-old had scored twice in the highly competitive encounter before he was replaced by Dries Mertens after the break.

The injury forced the former Lille striker to miss Galatasaray’s last two matches, as the club decided not to take any risk with his fitness.

Galatasaray later released pictures of Osimhen in training on their official X account on Saturday, giving fans a positive update on his recovery.

The setback also ruled him out of Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Libya.

His absence was a major blow for the Super Eagles, who had to continue their qualification campaign without one of their most important attacking players.

Osimhen is now expected to continue building his fitness ahead of Galatasaray’s next league match against Antalyaspor after the international break.

The Turkish champions will be hoping he returns fully fit, especially after his impressive performance against Kasimpasa showed how important he can be to their attack.
