According to early reports, Udoh went out with friends on Monday night and was found lifeless the following morning. There are suspicions of food or drink poisoning, though this has not been officially confirmed by authorities or medical personnel.

Udoh was in Nigeria awaiting visa approval as he prepared to sign for a new club abroad, marking what should have been the next chapter of a promising career. Just weeks earlier, on 17 April, he had gotten engaged to his longtime girlfriend, with wedding plans already underway.

Victor Udoh played for Southampton in England and other clubs across Europe. He had returned to Nigeria for a short visit before this tragic incident. While the cause of death remains unknown, some reports suggest possible poisoning during a night out with friends, a claim that remains unverified.
