UEFA has unveiled on thier official x handle an advanced pitch-mapping tool designed to transform how football infrastructure is planned and developed across Europe, Softfootball understands.

The system contains data on more than 400,000 football pitches, giving national associations a clearer and more strategic view when it comes to investment and development decisions. By identifying gaps and opportunities, the tool helps ensure resources are directed where they are needed most.

Built using a combination of artificial intelligence, open-source mapping, and satellite imagery, the platform accurately pinpoints pitch locations across the continent, offering unprecedented insight into football’s grassroots landscape.

UEFA believes this innovation will support smarter planning, improve accessibility, and strengthen the long-term growth of the game at all levels.
