There are some love stories that feel too personal, too deep, and too intentional to be called ordinary and the story of Jérémy Doku and his wife, Shireen Erin Lyannda Raymond, is one of them.

The emotional revelation recently surfaced after VeryDarkMan shared it on his X handle, drawing attention from fans who were moved by the depth of her words and the spiritual conviction behind their relationship.

In the heartfelt post, Shireen opened up about a dream she had when she was just 10 years old a dream she says never left her. According to her, she felt the presence of God so clearly in that moment, and what she heard stayed in her heart for years.

“When I was 10 years old, I had a dream that stayed with me in a way I could never fully explain. In that dream, I felt the presence of God so clearly, so peacefully. He spoke to me and told me that one day, I would marry a man who would play football in Europe.”

She explained that although she didn’t understand it at the time, the dream never faded.

“As I grew older, life unfolded in its own way, and I held onto that moment quietly in my heart. Then, when I met Jérémy, something felt different. There was a sense of familiarity, of certainty, like a promise I had already been given.”

For Shireen, choosing Doku was never something she described as difficult.

“So when he came into my life, it wasn’t a difficult decision. It felt natural, almost like I was stepping into something that had already been written for me long ago.”

That emotional story has now resurfaced at a time when Doku is once again making headlines for all the right reasons on the pitch.

The Manchester City winger recently delivered one of his most devastating performances in a City shirt, inspiring a commanding 3-0 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium. Making his 100th appearance for the club, Doku was simply electric.

He tormented Liverpool’s defence all game long before crowning his display with a stunning curled finish into the top-right corner in the 63rd minute a goal that perfectly summed up his confidence, flair, and growing importance to Pep Guardiola’s side.

His display was not just eye-catching, it was historic. Doku became the first Premier League player since 2019 to register 10+ duels won, 7 successful dribbles, 3 chances created, and a goal in a single match numbers that underline just how unplayable he was on the day.

That brilliance did not go unnoticed.

Following the performance, Doku was officially named Premier League Player of the Matchweek, claiming 40% of the fan vote and comfortably beating Dan Ballard and Alejandro Garnacho to the award.

Interestingly, VeryDarkMan also joined in celebrating Doku, as the winger’s recent rise and his wife’s emotional story combined to create one of those moments fans love where football, destiny, and personal faith all seem to meet.

Softfootball reported that Doku’s form is quickly turning him into one of Manchester City’s most dangerous weapons, and stories like this only make his journey feel even more powerful.
