Zinedine Zidane is set to become the next head coach of the France national team, with the appointment never having been in doubt since the French Football Federation made its decision last November.
The former Real Madrid manager has already finalised his coaching staff, while the remaining documents are expected to be formally signed later this month.
Zidane will begin a new era with Les Bleus, leading the national team through the UEFA Nations League, Euro 2028 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Softfootball reported two days ago that the French Football Federation was preparing to complete the formalities following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Zidane having remained fully committed to the role despite receiving other managerial interest over the past eight months.
The French legend is now poised to succeed Didier Deschamps and usher in the next chapter for one of international football’s most successful national teams.
