Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has insisted he has no regrets about joining the Premier League club despite enduring a frustrating start to his career at Old Trafford through injury.

The highly rated French centre-back suffered a foot injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal, forcing him to miss 21 matches before making his long-awaited return earlier this month.

Softfootball understands Yoro remains convinced that moving to England was the right decision, even after spending much of his first few months on the sidelines.

Speaking to Téléfoot, the 19-year-old said:

No regrets about joining Manchester United. In my head, I’d set my sights on playing abroad because that’s something I’ve always been attracted to, especially the Premier League.

Yoro admitted the injury was a difficult setback but believes representing Manchester United fulfils a lifelong ambition.

It’s every footballer’s dream,

he added.

The defender has gradually returned to full fitness and will now hope to establish himself under Ruben Amorim as United look to improve their fortunes during the second half of the season.
