Alejandro Garnacho was told at the end of last season to find a new club by manager Reuben Amorim as his services are no longer needed at Manchester United.

Softfootball gathered that the player and his representatives are in no rush to leave Premier League football and are waiting for suitable offers.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via Transfer News Live, claims that Chelsea are still interested in signing the Manchester United winger but are yet to make a bid.

The tweet reads:

“Chelsea are still showing an appreciation for Alejandro Garnacho. 🇦🇷🔵(Source: @FabrizioRomano)”

The Argentine broke into the first team under former manager Ten Hag and has since not looked back. He even had the chance of playing alongside his football idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garnacho was living the dream of every Manchester United academy graduate, playing weekly and even scored in the FA Cup final as the Red Devils defeated Man City 2-1 at Wembley in 2013/14.

Garnacho’s goal was shared by EmiratesFACup on their X handle. Watch the video below:

However, it soon got to his head when he started feeling it’s his entitlement to play every game and when he doesn’t start he is frustrated. Those might be seen as a great quality only if he is truly humble but he behaves like Cristiano Ronaldo but his output on the pitch doesn’t match the hype.

Garnacho has got great potential but it seems that bad attitude is beginning to creep into his professional life. He was once punished by the new manager, Amorim for coming late to training but the height was when he was not started for the Europa League final which Manchester United lost to Tottenham Hotspur that let all hell loose.

He was played for just 20 minutes in that game and his brother, who is also his agent took to social media to blast the Coaches for not starting his brother and Garnacho liked the tweet, showing his approval but the tweet was later deleted.

To be fair on Garnacho, he had a right to be angry especially when he is always available while others were injured throughout the season. A part example would be Mason Mount, who came back to fitness towards the end of the season after missing almost four months of action. But he started the final.

Players like Marcus Rashford were on loan to Aston Villa, Antony at Real Betis also on loan and Jadon Sancho on loan to Chelsea. At some point, Amad was also out injured and Garnacho stayed fit. So, he deserved to be angry but when about it the wrong way. And that drew the anger of Amorim who allegedly told him to pray he finds a new club.

As reported by Goal, Garnacho is currently training alone as he is not allowed to join the rest of the team for pre-season as the club gave him time alongside Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Malacia to find new teams because they are no longer needed at Old Trafford.

While Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan and Sancho is close to a move to Juventus. Garnacho is waiting for an offer bid from Chelsea. The Blues have been monitoring the former Atletico Madrid youth team star since January and are monitoring his situation at Manchester United.

The 20-time Premier League champions want around £60 million plus add-ons for Garnacho but Softfootball believes it would not be the best move for the Argentina international.

The current FIFA Club World Cup champions are blessed at the moment with better wingers and even had the luxury of selling Noni Madueke to a bitter rival in Arsenal.

Pedro Neto is playing some of the best football of his life currently, Joao Pedro has come in flying, the Blues also brought in Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and if need be Cole Palmer can also play on the wings.

The best for Garnacho is to seek a move to Aston Villa or go apologise to Amorim and compete with Cunha, Mbeumo and Amad for a spot in the starting line-up. It will help him develop more as a player and he can move in 2026.
