‘What he’s achieved in front of goal at his age is untouchable’ – Thierry Henry on Haaland

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Erling Haaland, describing the Manchester City striker’s achievements in front of goal at such a young age as untouchable. Henry highlighted the Norwagian’s remarkable consistency since arriving in the Premier League insisting that no player in world football can currently match his scoring exploits.

The last few days have been very positive for everyone associated with Pep Guardiola’s side, with great results over Manchester United and Napoli in the Champions League, following a tough start to the 2025/26 campaign in which they lost two of their opening three Premier League games as reported by Softfootball.

Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and Jeremy Doku have all impressed throughout their last two matches, and Henry has been heaping praise on one of the trio. The ex France international has stated that there is nobody in world football better at what the Manchester City star does, with the pundit labelling the player as a “monster”.

Haaland has enjoyed a blistering start to the 2025–26 campaign, scoring six goals across City’s first five matches as well as six in two games for Norway. The 25-year-old nabbed his 50th home Premier League goal last season and brought up a half-century of strikes in the Champions League in midweek, becoming the fastest player in the competition’s history to achieve that feat.

Speaking about Haaland following his goal against Napoli on Thursday night as reported by Fabrizio Romanao on his Facebook page, Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry stated that there is nobody in world football who can talk to the 25-year-old about scoring goals, essentially labelling the Man City star as the best on the planet at putting the ball in the net. The post reads:

Thierry Henry on Erling Haaland: At his age, what he has done when it comes to goals… NOBOSY CAN TALK TO HIM. People take him for granted… it’s NOT NORMAL these numbers. He makes it look easy.

The Norwegian forward has continued to break records with his goal scoring feats, establishing himself as a central figure in Pep Guardiola’s side and one of the most feared strikers in Europe. Henry’s comments further underline the growing recognition of Haaland’s impact, not just in England, but across the global stage.

The former Dortmund star has stepped up for Man City in many ways this season and looks to be at the level he reached during his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium. If the 25-year-old can replicate those numbers, City will go a long way this term, and he can continuing his hot streak against Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates.

As it stands, Haaland is Manchester City’s leading goalscorer this eason with five league goals, while Tijjani Reijnders, Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki are the only others to have scored with one each.

It is a similar story to previous times at City, with the Blues looking primarily to Haaland for their source of goals. It signifies how important having a proper No 9 is, something their neighbors United at least for now lack.
