West Ham plan to bring Serie A superstar back to premier league

London club, West Ham are looking to bring Super Eagles forward and Serie A superstar, Ademola Lookman back to England as a possible replacement for Mohammed Kudus amid Tottenham Hotspur interest, Softfootball reports.

The Ghana international is top priority for Spurs this summer as new manager Thomas Frank is a huge admirer of his talent and wants him at the club ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to Goal, Lookman is likely to cost the Hammers €60 million if he is to leave Atalanta this summer. The Nigerian has a contract with the La Dea club until 2027.

However, West Ham United would not make a bid until Kudus completes his move to Tottenham. Spurs’£50m bid for Kudus was rejected as the Hammers demand for £65m or no deal.

Kudus’ move t Tottenham Hotspur is expected to happen this summer as Chairman Daniel Levy continues to find the right offer for the Ghanaian. He was named Ghana Football Awards Footballer of the Year in 2023, and also won the SWAG Sports Personality of the Year twice (2022, 2023) and SWAG Foreign Footballer of the Year three times (2021, 2022, 2023).

The former Ajax midfielder also received the Eredivisie Talent of the Month award in May 2021 and was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Month multiple times. Additionally, he has been recognized in various CAF and IFFHS teams of the year.

Lookman has previously played in the premier league with Fulham and Everton, making 96 appearances, scoring 11 goals with just six assists.

However, it is a sharp contract of his time in Italy where he has played a total of 118 Serie A matches with a whopping 77 goals.

Softfootball had earlier reported that Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring Lookman but West Ham seem to be the one ready to bring the Nigerian back to England.

Lookman was the star man for Atalanta when they won their first ever European trophy, scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final in a pulsating 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
