Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has spoken confidently but cautiously ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Atlético Madrid, emphasizing the need for focus despite sitting at the top of the league.

Barcelona head into the game fresh off a 3-1 victory against Alaves, a win that propelled them to the top of the league table and boosted confidence within the squad. The Catalans have now begun to regain momentum after an inconsistent spell earlier in the campaign.

In a statement shared via the club’s official X handle, Flick said:

We are playing against a fantastic team. We’re leaders, but there’s still a lot of season left. We’re working hard to get back to our best level.

Softfootball also understands that Flick also addressed and cleared the air on the incident involving Raphinha during the previous win over Alavés. Videos and images had circulated showing Raphinha speaking to him while Flick appeared sad and disinterested on the touchline, sparking speculation about tension between the pair.

However, Flick dismissed the rumours, explaining that his reaction was simply out of frustration from the game’s flow rather than anything personal with the Brazilian winger.

Barcelona now turn their full attention to Tuesday’s showdown against Atlético Madrid, a fixture that could have early implications in the title race, with Flick urging full concentration as they aim to maintain their spot at the summit.
