Atlético Madrid suffered a difficult spell across major fixtures, with Athletico winning against Barcelona and Real Madrid rallying past Atlético Madrid in a tactical 3–2 victory, adding further emotional weight to the moment as Diego Simeone reflected on the recent setback.

Despite the surrounding pressure and disappointment, his message remained focused on acceptance, resilience, and immediate recovery.

As softfootball said , Diego  began by acknowledging the nature of football as reported by Dairo AS via youtube channel and the quality of the opposition, making it clear that defeats at this level must be understood rather than resisted:

First of all, accepting that there is always another team on the other side that wants to win, a team that does things well in order to win the final. They had the merits to win it, and life is about accepting the situations that arise, taking the learning that leads you along the paths we always have ahead, and obviously not stepping away from the pursuit we have.

Simeone then shifted to the mentality required after such a painful result, stressing that the team must reset immediately and focus on what comes next rather than what has already been lost:

We have to start again, as always happens when an important competition ends like the one we had the other day. Starting again means focusing on tomorrow’s match, putting our energy into doing things well, and from there continuing to compete.

He also reminded everyone that the team remains in a strong position in Europe despite the disappointment, encouraging perspective rather than panic:

“We are better than last year… the team is in a privileged place, among the four best in Europe. We know and accept that we lost because the opponent earned it and deserved to be champions.”

On injuries and squad availability, he kept things measured, explaining that recovery will dictate selection decisions in the coming days:

We will see how they recover from these small injuries… we hope they can recover in the best way possible for Saturday. We will count on them if they are ready, because the team needs everyone in this important stage of the season.

Finally, Simeone highlighted the importance of the supporters and the mentality within the club, praising the reaction of the fans even after defeat and rejecting any notion of victimhood:

What happened with the fans the other day was incredible… many times people look for messages that make you feel like you’re a victim. We are not victims of anything. There is nothing else to do but keep moving forward, keep walking the path we are on, and pursue what we want in the only way possible: through work.

His message remained firm and consistent throughout no excuses, no self-pity, only responsibility, hard work, and a relentless focus on the next challenge as the season continues across all competitions.
