Arsenal fans were thrown into jubilations yesterday when there were reports that Arsenal and Sporting CP have finally reached an agreement on the deal that will Viktor Gyokeres become an Arsenal player from Sporting CP.
Softfootball can confirm that a fee of €63.5 million plus €10 million in add-ons is to be paid by the Gunners for the Swedish striker. Gyokeres’ transfer to the Arsenal has been one, the whole football community became weary of after the two club involved were dragging their feet.

According to reports, after Sporting CP accepted the initial price of €63.5 million to be primarily paid by Arsenal for Gyokeres, they disagreed on Arsenal’s proposal on how the bonus is to be paid.
Further findings showed Softfootball that Sporting were aggrieved that Arsenal had set unrealistic bonus task for Gyokeres while they wanted something more easily achiveable.
But late Tuesday afternoon, transfer journalist, Fabrizio Roamano wrote on his verified X handle about Gyokeres transfer – ‘Here We Go’ as he always did on a confirmed transfer.
Fabrizo Romano said:
“BREAKING: Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go!
“Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved. Sporting accept last bid from Arsenal for €63.5m plus €10m, agent will reduce his commission.
“Gyökeres will sign five year deal at #AFC. He ONLY wanted Arsenal.
But what changed in the negotiations. According to Portuguese outlet, Records, a new payment method of bonus was agreed between the clubs. The €10m bonus fee remains attainable, but now for a longer period. The bonus is now to be paid in the full duration of the 5 year contract Gyokeres signs with the Arsenal.
It was reported that the new bonus objectives are related to the club’s individual and collective performance, in some cases combined, that is, titles or Champions League qualification only count if the player participates at least partially.
This agreement was the change that saw the Gunners fianlize the move to bring Gyokeres to the Northern part of London for next season. Medicals and completion of the transfer documents is what remains for the deal to be totally completed.
