Manuel Akanji, who is on loan from Manchester City was handed his Nerazzurri debut while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Carlos Augusto were preferred to Petar Sucic and Federico Dimarco.

Juve were unbeaten going into the derby and their aim was to protect their 100 per cent record but they were without Andrea Cambiaso, who was still suspended, with Francisco Conceicao, Fabio Miretti, Juan Cabal, Arek Milik and new buy Edon Zhegrova all injured.

Juventus took the lead, when Gleison Bremer knocked Manuel Locatelli’s cross back from the by-line for Lloyd Kelly to volley off home from 12 yards to make it 1-0.

Akanji did well to intercept the Kenan Yildiz through ball for Vlahovic, but at the other end Inter equalised when Carlos Augusto laid a pass off for the Hakan Calhanoglu and he blasted the ball home from the edge with his weaker left foot.

Juventus restored their advantage, through the outstanding Kenan Yildiz, who controlled a long ball from Bremer, turned and smashed the swerving finish into the near bottom corner.

Inter equalised again, when Marcus Thuram and Ange-Yoan Bonny knocked down a cross at the far post for Hakan Calhanoglu, who controlled with his chest and scored with a splendid volley from the edge of the area.

The game turned on its head when Marcus Thuram scored from a free header after a fine cross from Federico Dimarco’s corner. He didn’t celebrate, aware his brother and father both support Juventus.

However, Khephren Thuram did celebrate when he netted Juve’s equaliser from a Kenan Yildiz free kick to make it 3-3 moments later. The home side won the match in the final minute, when Vasilije Adzic off the bench hit an absolute screamer from 30 yards to send the crowd into wise frenzy.
