Valencia captain Jesús Vázquez has expressed delight after he led his team into the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey, Softfootball reports.
On Thursday night, Valencia beat Burgos CF 2-0 in the Copa del Rey round of 16 on a cold night. Rubén Iranzo opened scoring for the away side after just 10 minutes before Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq sealed the win in the 50th minute of the encounter.

Speaking after the match in an interview shared via Valencia’s official X handle, Jesús Vázquez couldn’t hold back his joy as he expressed his delight after the win. He said:
We had a very good first half. It was important to start the match well because we know that if you get an early lead, everything improves. I’ve been with the club my whole life, and the Copa del Rey always brings excitement. We’re going to give it our all to keep advancing through the rounds and give the fans something to cheer about.
In our game preview, Burgos CF were hoping for a shock against the LaLiga outfit but Valencia showed experience and composure to manage the match and pick a vital victory.

Valencia have not enjoyed the best of season but Jesús Vázquez is hoping they take the winning momentum into their next LaLiga match against Getafe at the weekend. He said:
We have to keep working. We’re doing a lot of things to turn the situation around, and we’re going to keep doing everything we can. We are very united, working to change the situation in LaLiga as soon as possible and to continue this momentum in the Copa del Rey to give the fans something to look forward to.
Valencia are currently in 18th place on the LaLiga table after 19 round of matches so far this season.
