After agreeing to a tranfser fee with Parma for younster, Giovanni Leoni, Liverpool are now moving fast to have the defender signed up before their Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Friday. Softfootball reported that Parma and Liverpool have had agree a fee for the defender.
Liverpool open their 25/26 Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on Friday and they will like to have Leoni for the game as a cover for centre back position. Currently, the Reds only have Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk as the available center back in the squad.

The club had moved with speed to sign up Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace but have now faced a rock as the Englishman is set to remain with the Eagles. Slot’s team have now ensured to hasten up the pursuit of Leoni from Parma.
Transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano had reported how the two team had reached agreement on his verified X handle.
He had posted:
“BREAKING: Giovanni to Liverpool, here we go! Deal agreed with Parma for Italian 18yo centre back.
“No loan, never discussed… Leoni joins #LFC now as part of Arne Slot plans.
“Fee around €35m with sell-on clause.

Now, he has updated his report. He is saying Liverpool are pushing to finalize the deal by the end of Thursday. he posted in the recent updates that:
“Understand Giovanni Leoni will fly to Merseyside on Thursday, in the next hours as deal with Liverpool is sealed.
“All documents signed and aporived and #LFC have just authorized Leoni to fly for medical test.
“Here we go, 1005 confirmed.”
The 18 year old defender played 17 matches for Param last season. he can play as a center back and as a right back. These positions are what Liverpool need a back up on as Joe Gomez is out injured.
