Many fans appeared dejected and confused as they struggled to understand how a club with Tottenham’s resources could find itself fighting near the bottom of the table.

Questions are now being raised about how a club with one of the most modern stadiums in world football as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be dragged into a relegation scrap.

Tottenham invested heavily in their squad this season, bringing in players such as Randal Kolo Muani, Conor Gallagher and Xavi Simons. They also still possess established names like Richarlison and Cristian Romero, making their current situation even more difficult to explain.

Despite the squad quality, Spurs have struggled badly in recent weeks. The team has failed to win any of their last four to five league matches, and pressure is mounting on head coach Igor Tudor.

Tudor’s record has also come under scrutiny. The Croatian manager arrived at Spurs after leaving Juventus, but results have not improved. Since taking charge, Tottenham have lost three straight Premier League matches, and Tudor himself had endured an eight-game winless run stretching back to his final period before leaving Juventus.

The situation may become even more difficult for Spurs in the coming days. They are scheduled to face Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, 10 March, at 20:00 British time.

Domestically, the challenge is just as daunting. Tottenham still have tough league fixtures ahead against Liverpool, Chelsea away from home, and Sunderland away.

Looking at the table, Spurs are only one point above West Ham United, who currently occupy 18th place in the relegation zone. With teams like Nottingham Forest still set to face Tottenham, the battle to avoid relegation could become even more intense.

If the situation continues, the season could produce one of the most dramatic storylines in recent Premier League history. The possibility that Arsenal could win the 2025/26 title while their North London rivals Tottenham suffer relegation would be an extraordinary and painful twist for Spurs supporters.
