Tottenham hotspur’s €70 million bid for wonderkid Nico Paz has reportedly been rejected by Como with the Argentine midfielder keen on returning to Real Madrid next summer.
Spurs have made Paz their primary target after missing out on Eberechi Eze to arch-rivals Arsenal. However, the player wants to stay at the Serie A side this season before returning to Real Madrid, who have a buy-back option on the attacking midfielder.

The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in Europe, scoring a stunning freekick and providing an assist in Como’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his X account, Spurs have had a €70 million turned down by the Serie A side on Sunday as they continue their search for a new number ten. The update adds that Paz wants to remain at Como for the 2025-26 season with the view of returning to former club Real Madrid next season. The post reads:
“EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham bid worth €70m package for Nico Páz has been turned down tonight.
Páz wants to stay at Como with view on Real Madrid future + Real were gonna match any proposal in any case.
Real have €10m buy back clause in 2026 but will compensate Como in future.”
Softfootball understood that Real Madrid inserted a clause in the deal for Nico Paz to join Como last year that would have allowed them to match any offer that came the Italian club’s way this summer.
The Spanish giants also have a €10m buy-back clause on Paz that becomes active in 2026, which they are planning to trigger before compensating Como further in the future.
Tottenham are pushing to secure a top class playmaker in this transfer window following James Maddison’s ACL injury. With the summer market closing on September 1, head coach Thomas Frank will now have to look elsewhere and act fast.
