Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement in principle with Genk to sign striker Tolu Arokodare in a €27 million deal. The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo medical tests today as Wolves look to reinforce their attack ahead of the summer transfer window’s deadline.
Softfootball reports that the agreement comes as Wolves aim to address their offensive struggles following a challenging start to the 2025-26 Premier League season, with losses in their opening two matches, including a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The Nigerian international, who finished as the Belgian Jupiler Pro League’s top scorer last season with 17 goals in 30 appearances, brings a proven goalscoring pedigree combined with his imposing 6’6” frame which makes him a formidable presence in the box.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X account, Tolu Arokodare is undergoing his medical at Wolves today after a €27m agreement was reached with Genk. The deal is complete. The post reads:
“Tolu Arokodare, completing his medical at Wolves later today after €27m deal agreed with Genk.
The deal is done, as exclusively revealed.”
Under manager Vitor Pereira, Wolves have been reshaping their squad, with recent additions including Jhon Arias, Fer Lopez, and centre-back Ladislav Krejci.
Arokodare’s arrival is expected to provide both cover and competition for Jorgen Strand Larsen, whose future at Molineux has been the subject of speculation amid rejected bids from Newcastle United.
