Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey has today, Tuesday, 21 July 2026, joined QPR ahead of the upcoming English Championship season.
Reacting to the transfer, Lamptey revealed he hopes to simply enjoy playing the game of football as he begins this new chapter.

I’m hardworking, I like to get up and down, a lot of energy, a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll keep the fans on the edge of their seats. I’m tough tackling, I love one-v-ones, defensive and attacking, I just love playing the game.
Softfootball understands that having progressed through the Chelsea Academy since age seven and making his senior debut under Frank Lampard in December 2019, Lamptey turned down a new contract offer at Stamford Bridge. He chose to leave in pursuit of more immediate and regular first‑team football, a decision that has shaped the path of his career ever since.
