Super Eagles Return to Training Ahead of AFCON 2025 Third-Place Match vs Egypt

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Egypt in the AFCON 2025 third-place playoff after losing 4–2 on penalties to Morocco in the semi-final.

Softfootball also gathered, Egypt also missed out on a place in the final after suffering a 1–0 defeat to Senegal, with Sadio Mané scoring the decisive goal in the 78th minute.

Softfootball gathered a video posted on the Super Eagles’ official X (formerly Twitter) handle, showing the Nigerian team returning to the training ground as preparations continue for the third-place playoff against Egypt.

Meanwhile, Senegal and host nation Morocco have both qualified for the AFCON 2025 final and will battle for the title on Sunday, 18 January, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 GMT. The final will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.

The third-place match between Nigeria and Egypt will take place on Saturday, 17 January, with kick-off set for 17:00 GMT, as both sides look to finish the tournament on a positive note.
