The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Egypt in the AFCON 2025 third-place playoff after losing 4–2 on penalties to Morocco in the semi-final.


Softfootball also gathered, Egypt also missed out on a place in the final after suffering a 1–0 defeat to Senegal, with Sadio Mané scoring the decisive goal in the 78th minute.

Meanwhile, Senegal and host nation Morocco have both qualified for the AFCON 2025 final and will battle for the title on Sunday, 18 January, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 GMT. The final will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.
The third-place match between Nigeria and Egypt will take place on Saturday, 17 January, with kick-off set for 17:00 GMT, as both sides look to finish the tournament on a positive note.
