Five-time Ballon D’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that hardwork pays after helping Al Nassr maintain their 100% record in the Saudi Pro League with a 5-1 win over Al Fateh, Softfootball reports.

The 40-year-old, who was part of the Portugal team that drew 2-2 against Hungary in the last international break was in superb form on Saturday night as he scored second goal for his club in their rout.

After the match he took to his official X handle to write a statement that seems to be directed to critics who never believed he could still perform at a decent level because of his age. He wrote:

Success is not an accident

However, the star of the show against Al Fateh was former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix as he scored a hat-trick in the match. The former Benfica player opened scoring with sweet finish in the 13th minute.

It was interesting at that point because no more goals were scored in the first half until Sofiane Bendebka equalised for the away side in the 54th minute. Then the home side opened the floodgates of goals as Ronaldo put his side in front six minutes later with a belter.

Felix added two more goals to complete his hat-trick before Kingsley Coman wrapped it up with his goal to make it 5-1.

Al Nassr are comfortably on top of the table with 15 points, having won all their matches scoring 19 goals and conceding just twice this season while Al Fateh are 16th with just a point after five matches.
