Softfootball gathered, South Africa produced an emphatic performance to defeat Congo 5–0 in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group Stage clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.
The home side raced into an early lead with Teboho Mokoena scoring twice in the 12th and 27th minutes. Bathusi Jurry Aubaas added a third goal in the 37th minute, and Lyle Foster extended the advantage early in the second half with a strike in the 52nd minute. Iqraam Rayners completed the scoring in the 78th minute to seal a commanding victory.
South Africa dominated from start to finish, controlling possession and creating numerous scoring chances. Despite a few yellow cards for Teboho Mokoena (11′) and Elias Mokwana (69′), the team maintained composure to see out the win.
