Atlético Madrid boss Diego Simeone has played down any contract speculation surrounding Julián Álvarez, insisting the Argentine forward remains fully focused and happy at the club.
Speaking ahead of their upcoming La Liga fixture against Betis, Simeone cut his usual composed figure when asked about Álvarez’s future. The 25-year-old forward, who joined Atlético from Manchester City last summer, has been one of the standout performers this season, justifying why former manager Pep Guardiola revealed he was too good for a secondary role, and now rumours about a new deal have already started flying around.
