Nottingham Forest are in talks with Sean Dyche as they continue their search for a new manager following the sack of Ange Postecoglou, Softfootball reports.

The Tricky Trees switched attention to the former Burnley and Everton manager after failing to reach agreement with Italian Roberto Mancini. Nottingham Forest sacked Postecoglou on Saturday after a 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the City Ground.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Nottingham are closing in on a deal for a new manager. He wrote:

Nottingham Forest are closing in on appointment of Sean Dyche as new head coach.

After Roberto Mancini talks collapsed as revealed yesterday, deal being finalised with Dyche who’s ready to accept.

Since sacking Nuno Spirito Santo in September, Forest has struggled for form and bringing Ange Postecoglou to the club didn’t help matters as he failed to win any game with the radical owner of the club, Evangelos Marinakis deciding to cut him loose.

Now, Forest are in negotiations with Sean Dyche and the Englishman is expected to accept the role, having been out of job since he left his role at Everton where David Moyes now reigns supreme.

Nottingham Forest are currently 18th in the premier league with just five points and if Dyche accepts the role of manager, his first match will be against FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
