Roma Eye Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas in Loan Move

AS Roma are pushing to strengthen their backline before the window closes, and Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas has emerged as a key target. Gian Piero side are in need of reliable depth at left-back, and the Greek international is open to the switch as he looks for more consistent playing time away from Anfield.

Softfootball understands that Roma made their move earlier today, opening talks with Liverpool over a potential loan deal. However, negotiations are not straightforward, with the Reds reluctant to agree to a temporary exit.

Liverpool’s stance remains firm that they would prefer a permanent transfer rather than just letting the player leave on loan.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the developments on the story via his verified X handle, saying:

“AS Roma have approached Liverpool today for Kostas Tsimikas to join on initial loan deal.

Tsimikas wants the move but no green light to the formula yet as #LFC insist on permanent exit.

There are two more clubs in the race for the Greek LB.”

The situation leaves Roma in a waiting game, as they hope Liverpool soften their stance in the coming days. Tsimikas himself is said to be very keen on the move, eager for a chance play regular minutes in Serie A.

With two other clubs monitoring the situation, Roma may need to move quickly to avoid losing out on the defender.

For Liverpool, the decision is a strategic one. The club values Tsimikas as third string to summer signing frimpong and robertson and were initally willing to let him go on loan , but they are also aware that his market value could be maximized with a permanent sale rather than a short-term deal.
