This clip was shared on the podcast’s official X handle where the two men came to a conclusion that a calm, senior voice could help sort the team out.

Softfootball had earlier reported Salah’s recent interview where he admitted how he felt like he was thrown under the bus but Gerrard believed the words were wrong and should be softened. He said,

He’s obviously really upset he’s not playing which I respect. He wants to help the team, I respect. Couple of lines about throwing people under the bus is wrong. Need to reverse a little bit away from that, he needs to deal with that with the manager. This needs Virgil Van Dijk to go “how we sorting this out?”

From his words, he urged Virgil van Dijk to step in and help fix the situation. Rio Ferdinand’s words also showed that he agreed with the idea of van Dijk helping to fix the issue for the fans, Salah and the club. He said,

I think Virgil Van Dijk can be somebody that can play a role in this situation. He can be the go between the manager and the people upstairs and Mo Salah. He can be sitting there talking to his teammate and say listen man, just tell me how you feel and what’s the problem? And I’m going to go and speak to the guys. I think you’ve said enough now, I think this is where the captains got to stand in and really take hold of the situation.

Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot’s recent comments on the development also emphasized that the situation just needs proper communication as his words showed that the relationship between him and Salah hasn’t been damaged and there is still mutual respect.

In the end, all three men point toward the same conclusion, the situation simply needs careful handling.

Salah’s frustrations are understandable but with calm guidance from senior figures like Virgil van Dijk and open communication with the manager, the tension can be settled quickly.

Everyone involved wants what is best for Liverpool and with the right approach, the issue should be resolved smoothly, allowing the team to move forward in unity.
