Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Bournemouth, James highlighted the boost both his own fitness and Palmer’s presence bring to the squad.
The Blues will be looking to bounce back after their seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions ended in a 3-1 defeat against Leeds United, as reported by Softfootball.
James missed the game against Leeds United but had impressed in a midfield role during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with league leaders Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

When asked about his preferred position, James insisted he’s happy to play anywhere.
He said:
I don’t really have preference to be honest, l ve played so much in both now, maybe if you asked me a year ago I probably would have had a preference, but the more I’ve kind of played half-and-half in both roles, I’m just happy to be back on the pitch and helping the team.
The 25-year-old has already made 17 appearances for Chelsea this season and featured in every Premier League game before the midweek trip to Leeds. He also explains how it feels to play consistently.

He said:
I feel very strong at the moment. Playing consistently helps a lot. Start and stop, with the injuries, it’s hard to find a rhythm.
Good form comes from being available week in, week out. I’m finally stringing a decent period together. I understand my body much better now than maybe two years ago.
He also talked about Cole Palmer’s presence in the Chelsea team.

He said:
He’s an amazing player and an amazing person as well. He’s quite reserved but he has a funny side to him as well. He’s had a decent period sidelined now, and we’re happy he’s back with us.
I think he has the ability just to score two goals from nothing. There are very few players who have the ability just to make something out of nothing and he has that.
Chelsea are also delighted to see Cole Palmer back after a long absence since September. He still needs a bit more time to be fully ready, but his return clearly adds something positive to the Chelsea team.
