Real Madrid welcome Juventus to the Santiago Bernabéu on October 22, 2025, for what feels like a throwback to the glory days a Champions League rematch of the 2017 final. Xabi Alonso’s side have started this year’s campaign perfectly, with two wins from two, scoring seven goals and conceding just once. The Spanish giants are unbeaten at home this season (W5), including a 5-0 demolition of Kairat and a tight 2-1 win over Marseille.
For Juventus, things look far less rosy. Softfootball understands that the Italian club are without a win in their last five away UCL games (D4, L1) and recently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Como.
It’s a worrying run that has fans questioning Igor Tudor’s tactics and squad depth after the controversial draws in their last two games in this tournament, the first being the 4-4 draw against Dortmund, before another captivating 2-2 draw against Villarreal. So Juve are unbeaten, yet they are pursuing their first win in the competition.

Real Madrid will be hoping to make full use of the home advantage as they prepare intensely for the encounter. Real Madrid even posted video footage from their last training session via the team’s official X account.

Team News
Real Madrid are battling an injury crisis, especially in defence. Dani Carvajal (suspended), Antonio Rüdiger (muscle), Trent Alexander-Arnold (hamstring), Ferland Mendy (thigh), and David Alaba (calf) are all out or doubtful. There are also concerns for Kylian Mbappé (ankle) and young Argentine prodigy Franco Mastantuono, who picked up a knock but will definitely take part in the game, as revealed by Xabi Alonso in his last press conference.
For Juventus, Gleison Bremer (meniscus), Juan Cabal (hamstring), and Edon Zhegrova (muscle) remain sidelined, while Fabio Miretti is still a doubt.

Possible Lineups
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Courtois; Valverde, Militao, Asencio, Carreras; Tchouameni, Camavinga; Mastantuono, Guler, Vinicius; Mbappe
Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Rugani, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David
Softfootball’s Prediction
Madrid’s firepower, averaging 2.38 goals per game and home dominance make them clear favorites. Even with doubts over Mbappé and Mastantuono, Alonso’s squad depth and tactical discipline should carry them through. Juventus may have their moments, but it’s hard to see them containing Madrid’s rhythm and intensity. Real Madrid have also won 12 of 22 official meetings with Juventus (D2, L8).
Prediction: Real Madrid 3–1 Juventus
