Real Madrid Fans Divided After Juventus Win: Courtois Praised, Alaba and Tchouaméni Slammed

4 Min Read

Real Madrid’s narrow 1–0 win over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League may have kept their perfect record intact, but among the fanbase, the mood was anything but unanimous. Softfootball reports that while some supporters celebrated the victory, others expressed frustration over the team’s performance, calling it uninspiring and far from Xabi Alonso’s ideal vision; this was a similar sentiment shared by some fans after the laboured 1-nil victory over Getafe in Laliga.

For Jimmex @Jimexpaintdecor on X, the tone was cautious rather than celebratory. He admitted the result was important but warned that the win shouldn’t mask deeper issues within the squad.

He wrote:

Don’t wanna sound pessimistic but this doesn’t mean all our problems are over. There is still work to be done especially with Real Madrid coming. Hopefully, this continues against Brentford. But for tonight, let’s celebrate

Others were less forgiving. João Pedro Lopes @JoaoPedr0514 on X delivered a harsh verdict, claiming that Alonso’s side looked too much like last season’s Real under Ancelotti, structured but stale. He singled out Courtois as the true hero of the night.

He tweeted:

I don’t see Xabi’s Real Madrid. I only see Ancelotti’s Real Madrid from last season. Terrible game and the result is misleading because the team’s best player was Courtois

Zara @yorealnaci on X jumped in to challenge fans longing for the glory of the 2023/24 season, arguing that Real’s previous success came more from fortune than dominance.

She said:

Imma pull up this everytime that “we miss 2023/2024 season” narrative is back bc everybody that knows football knows that we won those titles with the power of “Real Madrid miracle” and last season we were exposed ( this season too )

Meanwhile, JoseMigué @poliwarro on X found humour in the chaos, playfully embracing Real Madrid’s reputation as football’s “villains”.

He joked:

Glad you depict Real Madrid players for what they are… villains hahaha

But not all jokes Jay Jay @dont_fuul on X and Angel @angelmadr57 on X were brutal in their criticism of key players. Jay Jay took aim at David Alaba, questioning his fitness and consistency after another injury-hit spell.

He angrily claimed:

Bro as it stands now Alaba can’t play 90 mins in any Crucial game.Y’all should stop using the past as reference .He ain’t that guy no more!!! Someone who’s missed more games for Real Madrid than he’s played…? Be serious! No manager would choose this current Alaba over Maguire

Angel didn’t hold back either, slamming Aurélien Tchouaméni for what he described as laziness and poor defensive work.

She Lamented:

Tchoumeni you can’t escape from me ,you are a very lazy ass midfielder . Anytime he looses the ball ,he doesn’t make a quick run to cover ,just pure ass DM .I don’t care how you people will take it but he is really ass

For now, Madrid’s results are doing the talking, but judging by fan reactions, Xabi Alonso still has plenty of work to do to win over the entire Bernabéu faithful.
