PSG to face Tottenham in next seasons UEFA Super Cup clash

Angers vs. Paris Saint-Germain

The stage is now set for the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, as Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face off in the annual European season curtain-raiser. Following a dominant 5-0 Champions League final win over Inter Milan in Munich, PSG clinched their first-ever UCL title and completed a historic treble under Luis Enrique.

Meanwhile, Tottenham lifted the Europa League trophy with a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao, ending a 17-year wait for silverware. That triumph also earned Spurs a place in next season’s Champions League, despite a dismal 17th-place finish in the Premier League.

The Super Cup match will be held on Wednesday, August 13, with kickoff set for 8pm UK time. The fixture will be decided by a penalty shootout if scores are level after 90 minutes, as no extra time will be played.

This year’s Super Cup takes place at Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy – the home ground of Serie A side Udinese. With a capacity of 25,144, the stadium offers an intimate setting for the high-profile showdown. Spurs are making their debut in the competition, while PSG are making only their second appearance, having lost to Juventus in the 1996 edition.

Ticket details are yet to be confirmed, but fans can expect similar pricing to previous years, which ranged from £25 to £295. Typically, 60 percent of the stadium’s seats are allocated to supporters of the participating clubs.

Last year’s Super Cup was won by Real Madrid, who defeated Atalanta 2-0 in Warsaw. That match was memorable for marking Kylian Mbappe’s debut for Los Blancos, where he scored alongside Federico Valverde in a convincing win.

Now, PSG and Tottenham will write the next chapter in the Super Cup’s history as both clubs look to build on their recent European success.
