Paris Saint-Germain dumped Liverpool out of the Champions League with a dominant 2–0 win at Anfield, sealing a 4–0 aggregate victory after already winning the first leg 2–0 in Paris as reported softootball.

PSG controlled both legs of the tie, with Ousmane Dembélé scoring twice on the night to finish off a miserable European run for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s hopes were further crushed when a potential comeback moment was overturned after VAR cancelled a second-half penalty decision, while the injury to Hugo Ekitiké added to the frustration inside Anfield. Despite the setback, it’s worth noting Liverpool had earlier secured a domestic win over Fulham, but their European form told a different story entirely.

Fans on X reacted strongly to the elimination, expressing anger, sarcasm, and disappointment.

Blessing wrote: “Home and away not even one goal…”

Sankara added a more sarcastic jab:

Your exit is necessary in order to put climate change in check

Topal mocked the mood, saying:

What’s wrong? You don’t seem very happy. Did PSG beat you up?

Gede offered a calmer reflection:

Consolation to Liverpool. Today the Anfield magic didn’t happen. That’s the reality of football. Some nights refuse to bend. We tried, we pushed, we believed… but it wasn’t enough. Refocus for the next game…

Maeeket kept it blunt:

Yes we know congratulations..

Miteal delivered a harsh critique of the season, saying:

16 defeats in a trophyless season. This is midtable / lower half of the table form. £500m pissed away on transfers and the team has gone backwards. #FSG, Hughes & Edwards are delusional if they think Arne can turn this around next year…

The defeat ends Liverpool’s Champions League campaign, while PSG march on in dominant fashion after winning both legs convincingly.
