Porto set to send fresh bid for Arsenal’s Kiwior this week

Portuguese giants, FC Porto are set to send in a fresh bid for Arsenal defender, Jakub Kiwior after having their first offer rejected by the Gunners, Softfootball reports.

The player is open to a move away from the Emirates to afford him more game as he is currently behind the likes of Frenchman William Saliba and Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, he believes Porto are not giving up on their chase for the defender despite failing the first time they tried

He said:

“FC Porto keep talks active for Jakub Kiwior with new bid set to be sent this week.

Arsenal already rejected a bid in July but Porto will try again soon.

If Zinchenko and Kiwior leave, #AFC could add one more player.”

Porto are optimistic of signing the Poland international for an initial loan with an obligation to buy. Arsenal has set a price-tag of £26 million for the 25-year-old and Porto are not prepared to go that high for a player considered a fringe defenders at the North London club.

Kiwior is not the only Arsenal player up for sale this summer as the Gunners have made available Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga before the end of the transfer window on September 1.

German Bundesliga side, Stuttgart are targeting a loan loan deal for Vieira with an obligation to buy for £17m while Premier League outfit, Fulham have entered talks with Arsenal to sign Nelson on a loan deal.

Arsenal have started the season very well with two wins in the opening Premier League fixtures. The Gunners beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, then thrashed Leeds United 5-0 last weekend.
