Early Life

Setford was born in Haarlem, Netherlands, to an English professional golfer father and a Dutch mother. His older brother, Charlie Setford, is also a goalkeeper, playing for Ajax and representing England at youth level.

Club Career

Ajax Academy & Arsenal Move

Setford began his footballing journey in the AFC Ajax academy, where he developed his technical skills. In July 2024, Arsenal secured his signature for a reported €1 million fee, offering him a four-year contract with an option for an extra year.

Arsenal First-Team Debut

On October 30, 2024, Setford made his senior debut for Arsenal in a Carabao Cup clash against Preston North End, where he impressed by keeping a clean sheet in a 3–0 victory.
