Maldini Kacurri was born on 4 October 2005 in Lewisham, London. He was named after legendary AC Milan and Italy captain Paolo Maldini, reflecting his family’s deep-rooted passion for football. Kacurri’s family emigrated from Albania, specifically from the city of Lezhë. He grew up in a Catholic household and has an older sister, a younger brother, and a niece.

Club Career

Youth Development

Kacurri began his football journey in the youth academy of Fulham, where he honed his defensive skills before making a significant move to Arsenal in 2022. At Arsenal, he became a regular feature for the Gunners in Premier League 2, showcasing his ability to compete at a high level.

During the 2022–23 season, he started training with Arsenal’s senior squad, marking an important milestone in his young career. His consistent performances earned him his first professional contract with the club on 4 July 2024.

Senior Debut & First-Team Involvement

Kacurri was included in Arsenal’s senior matchday squad for the first time on 15 September 2024, during a 1–0 victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Shortly after, on 25 September, he made his senior debut as a substitute for Riccardo Calafiori in a 5–1 EFL Cup victory against Bolton Wanderers. This appearance made him the first Albanian national to play for Arsenal’s first team.

Loan Move to Bromley

On 3 February 2025, Kacurri joined League Two club Bromley on loan for the remainder of the season. The move was designed to provide him with regular first-team football experience and further his development as a defender.

International Career

Kacurri has represented Albania at various youth levels, beginning with the under-17 national team before earning a place in the under-19 squad in 2023. His performances on the international stage have demonstrated his potential as a key defensive talent for Albania in the future.
