47 Lucas Bergstrom

Born on 5 September 2002 in Finland, Lucas Bergström began his footballing journey with TPS before joining Chelsea’s academy in 2018. He made his youth debut in the 2018–19 season finale against Reading and signed his first professional contract in September 2019.

Chelsea and First-Team Involvement

Bergström gradually climbed the ranks at Chelsea and was named on the bench for the Champions League group-stage match against Zenit Saint Petersburg in September 2021. In 2023, he traveled to the USA for Chelsea’s Premier League Summer Series, and at the start of the 2023–24 season, injuries to Marcus Bettinelli and Robert Sánchez saw him feature on the bench multiple times.

Peterborough United (2022–23 Season)

• Loaned to League One side Peterborough United in July 2022
• Made his professional debut on 30 July 2022 in a 3–2 win against Cheltenham Town
• Registered 9 clean sheets in 28 appearances across all competitions

IF Brommapojkarna (2024 Loan – Early Termination)

• Extended his Chelsea contract on 29 February 2024
• Immediately loaned to Allsvenskan side IF Brommapojkarna for the 2024 season
• The loan was terminated early on 18 June 2024

International Career

• Represented Finland U16 and U17 teams
• Called up to the Finland U21 squad for 2023 UEFA European U21 Championship qualifiers
• Made his senior international debut for Finland on 9 January 2023 in a 2–0 loss to Sweden
