36 Deivid Washington

Born in Itumbiara, Goiás, on June 5, 2005, Deivid Washington de Souza Eugênio—commonly known as Deivid Washington—began his football journey with Grêmio at just eight years old. At 11, he transitioned to Santos, where his potential quickly became evident in the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17.

Under the guidance of former Brazil international Marcos Assunção, Deivid excelled, making a name for himself in the youth circuit. His breakthrough came in 2022 when he emerged as the top scorer in the Campeonato Paulista Sub-17, netting 16 goals, alongside six additional goals in the national championship. By 16, he signed his first professional contract with Santos, securing a deal with a massive R$100 million release clause.

Breakthrough at Santos

Already playing with the under-20 squad since 2021, Deivid’s goal tally continued to rise, scoring 17 times in both state and national tournaments. His stellar performances earned him a first-team call-up following Santos’ early exit from the 2023 Campeonato Paulista.

On April 11, 2023, he made his professional debut in a Copa do Brasil match against Botafogo-SP. Just a month later, on May 10, he scored his first senior goal in a 3–0 Série A victory over Bahia. His rapid rise led to a contract renewal, extending his stay at Santos until April 2026.

Chelsea Move and Premier League Debut

On August 24, 2023, Chelsea secured Deivid’s signature, signing him on a seven-year contract with an additional one-year option. The move marked a significant step in his career, and he made his Premier League debut on October 28, 2023, in a 2–0 loss to Brentford.

Return to Santos on Loan

Despite his move to England, Deivid’s time at Chelsea saw limited opportunities. On February 20, 2025, he rejoined Santos on loan until December 2025, hoping to regain momentum and continue his development at the club where he first made his mark.
