The home side started strong, taking early control of the game as they looked to respond to recent setbacks highlighted by SoftFootball. Samsunspor, meanwhile, entered the match confident after watching Fenerbahçe snatch a late draw against Galatasaray.

Galatasaray started positively, taking the lead in the 8th minute when Leroy Sané finished a slick move from Lucas Torreira. The Lions doubled their advantage in the 29th minute as Osimhen timed his run perfectly, slotting home Sané’s through ball.

By halftime, Galatasaray controlled 71% of possession and had created the majority of chances. Samsunspor threatened occasionally, particularly through Anthony Musaba, but could not test Uğurcan Çakır seriously. Their resilience would, however, be rewarded later.

After the break, Samsunspor fought back impressively. Musaba pulled one back in the 56th minute following precise buildup play from Emre Kilinç.

The visitors’ pressure eventually produced an equaliser in the 88th minute when Kilinç struck a powerful left-footed effort into the top-left corner. It looked as though the points would be shared, but Galatasaray had one more surprise.

In stoppage time, Yunus Akgün met a cross and flicked it into Osimhen’s path. The Nigerian striker executed a stunning overhead kick to make it 3–2, sending the stadium into raptures. Osimhen’s performance underlined his importance to Galatasaray ahead of AFCON 2025.

Leroy Sané’s assist and constant attacking threat were just as critical, while Samsunspor’s Kilinç and Musaba deserved credit for keeping the game alive.

This victory extended Galatasaray’s perfect head-to-head record against Samsunspor to 12 wins in 12 encounters and reinforced their top spot in the Super Lig.
