Galatasaray’s update on their official X handle expresses serious concern over injuries to key forwards Victor Osimhen and Noa Lang following their 4–0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg on March 18, 2026, sealing a 4–1 aggregate elimination.

The result marked a painful end to Galatasaray’s European run, especially after their earlier 1–0 first-leg victory, where Osimhen played a vital role with a dominant all-round performance despite not getting on the scoresheet.

They shared:

We send our best wishes to our players Victor Osimhen and Noa Lang, who were forced to leave the pitch due to injury. Wishing them a speedy recovery

Softfootball understands that in the return leg, Osimhen was forced off at halftime after suffering what appeared to be a fractured arm following a collision in the first half. The Nigerian striker showed determination by continuing until the break before being replaced by Leroy Sané.

However, Lang endured a more dramatic exit after crashing into advertising boards during a challenge with Darwin Núñez, resulting in a wrist injury that required him to be stretchered off.

The match also saw Mohamed Salah score his 50th Champions League goal, highlighting Liverpool’s dominance on the night.

Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola suffered a severe ankle ligament sprain during Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Chelsea, adding to a growing list of injury concerns across Europe.
