Olympiacos FC via their official X handle have officially confirmed a contract extension for Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi.
Olympiacos who were thrashed 6–1 by Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League phase encounter at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys has ensured the prolific forward remains a key part of the club’s plans for the coming seasons.
They revealed:
We are proud to announce that Ayoub El Kaabi has extended his contract with our club, Olympiacos FC!
Softfootball understands that El Kaabi has been instrumental for Olympiacos since joining from Hatayspor in 2023 for a reported fee of €2.5 million. The striker quickly established himself as a decisive figure, most notably scoring the dramatic extra-time winner against ACF Fiorentina in the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League to secure the club’s historic European triumph in 2024.

During that campaign, El Kaabi netted 11 goals in the competition, finishing as its top scorer. His European form continued into the following season, helping him become Olympiacos’ record goalscorer in European competitions with 16 goals.
Across all competitions since his arrival, the Moroccan international has surpassed 30 goals, playing a crucial role in Olympiacos’ 2024–25 domestic double and strengthening their position in the Super League Greece.
Reports suggest the new deal is worth around €3 million per year, with the extension also ending speculation about interest from several Premier League clubs.
Moving away from Olympiacos FC, Manchester City are reportedly planning to strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer window, with Elliot Anderson emerging as a potential target for Pep Guardiola’s side.
