Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa in a post shared by the club’s official X account, he said:

I feel the connection between me and the fans and it’s just my job to continue to do the best I can to help the team achieve its goals and I’m sure that bond will grow.

Madueke has had to be patient with a knee injury and a strong squad, but he sees the competition as a positive challenge.

He said, laughing:

I think for Mikel it’s a selection headache. But he probably wouldn’t have it any other way. Competition for places is exactly what you need when you’re fighting on all fronts. It keeps everyone sharp in training.

From his very first conversation with Mikel Arteta, Madueke felt the team’s ambition and the plans for him resonated strongly. Joining a squad capable of competing for major honours was a big part of his decision.

He said:

The first time I spoke with Mikel, it was a great chat with my dad and him. He explained his plans for the team and for me, and I really connected with that.

Arsenal are currently in strong positions domestically and in Europe. They are leading the Premier League, have progressed in the Champions League, and have reached the later stages of the Carabao Cup.

Madueke believes the squad has the quality and mindset to challenge for silverware in multiple competitions.

He said:

We believe this can be our year. Everyone has to step up physically, mentally, and in our performances. Our goal is to compete to win every competition we’re in.

He added that belief is essential, saying:

You can’t achieve anything without believing it from the start. We have that belief. We just need to keep pushing ourselves and reaching new levels. I feel we’re on the perfect trajectory right now.
