While the Super Falcons’ 5-0 victory over Comoros secured a convincing 7-0 aggregate triumph in the Olympics 2028 qualifiers, one Nigerian football fan believes the performance highlighted something even more important: the incredible depth of talent available to the national team.

Speaking to Softfootball after the match, the supporter was full of praise for the players, describing the performance as calm, controlled and mature from start to finish.

“Calm, composed. I saw the transition in play. We already know that we have a quality side.”

The fan went even further, arguing that Nigeria’s pool of women’s football talent is so extensive that the country could comfortably supply players to several nations and still remain competitive at the highest level.

“Nigeria is begging for talent. We can give four, six, seven, even ten countries our female footballers and still have enough national team players left.”

For him, one of the biggest positives from the victory was seeing fringe players and newer faces step up when given opportunities.

He singled out a number of performers for special recognition, including Blessing Okpe, Folashade Ijamilusi, Michelle Alozie, and Shukurat Oladipo.

“They’re showing quality, they’re showing class.”

The supporter was particularly impressed with Oladipo’s display, believing the defender has shown she can handle the pressure that comes with replacing experienced stars.

“You see someone like Oladipo stepping into the big shoes of Ohale and she settled in really nicely.”

Strength in Depth

The fan believes one of Nigeria’s greatest advantages going forward is the growing number of quality options available across the squad.

With injuries, retirements and player availability always affecting international football, he sees squad depth as a major weapon for the Super Falcons.

“That means we have variety when we step into bigger competitions.”

He agreed with Augustine Eguavoen’s recent comments about building a larger player pool and described the competition for places as a positive challenge rather than a problem.

“It’s a good problem. There are enough players that you can plug in and play.”

More Weapons for the Future

Another point raised by the supporter was the unpredictability that a larger squad can provide.

He argued that opponents often prepare for Nigeria’s biggest stars, but introducing lesser-known players could create new challenges for rival teams.

“We have a plethora of players that you don’t know what they are about.”

According to the fan, emerging talents waiting in the wings could become valuable assets as the Super Falcons prepare for tougher tests ahead.

Eyes on the Next Challenge

Although delighted with the commanding victory over Comoros, the supporter believes the performance should serve as a foundation rather than a final destination.

With Morocco expected to be the next obstacle on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, he feels Nigeria’s growing depth will be crucial.

For now, however, he is simply enjoying what he sees as the emergence of another exciting generation of Super Falcons players.

“I like it. It’s beautiful.”

After a 7-0 aggregate victory and several impressive individual performances, many Nigerian fans will share that same optimism as the Super Falcons continue their journey towards Olympic qualification.
