Newcastle Refuse to Give Up on Jørgen Strand Larsen Despite Wolves Stance

Newcastle united are refusing to give up in their interest in Wolves striker Jørgen Strand Larsen, even after seeing a £50 million bid rejected. The Magpies remain determined to strengthen their attack before the transfer window shuts down as they view the Norwegian as a key target.

Softfootball understands that Wolves are standing firm on their position and do not want to lose their main striker this late in the transfer window as they feel finding a replacement would be diffcult at this time. However, Newcastle’s recruitment team are still exploring ways to strike a deal that could convince the Midlands club.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest on the situation via his verified X handle, saying:

“Newcastle are still working and insisting on Jørgen Strand Larsen deal after £50m bid rejected. Wolves don’t want to sell the striker but #NUFC still trying to find club to club solution ahead of Deadline.”

The Magpies’ pursuit of Larsen comes after frustrations in the market, having missed out on both Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike, who were lined up as potential replacements for Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker is currently trying to force a move out of St. James’ Park, leaving Newcastle desperate to secure attacking reinforcements before the window shuts.

Eddie Howe and his staff are hoping Larsen can be prised away from Wolves, but negotiations remain difficult with the Midlands side reluctant to weaken their squad. Time is running out, and the next few days will determine whether Newcastle land their man or are forced back to the drawing board.
