The 27 years old goalkeeper will be moving to his fourth club in 5 years if the deal with Newcastle goes through.  It is not sure what number Ramsdale will be in the goalkeeping pecking order at Newcastle as the Magpies still have Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka.

Dubravka had just signed a new contract with the Magpies in February 2025 and made good cover for the team when first choice, Pope was out injured.

Ramsdale who had relegated twice with Sheffield United and Southampton will add some experience to the Newcastle keeping department as he won the FA Community Shield in 2023 with Arsenal. Newcastle lost to Arsenal in a preseason game played at the National stadium, Singapore.
