Milos Kerkez Explains Why Brighton Clash Is Really Important for Liverpool

Milos Kerkez believes Liverpool must take full advantage of their momentum when they face Brighton at Anfield on Saturday. The fixture is previewed in SoftFootball’s report, where the focus is on Liverpool needing a strong Premier League response after recent mixed results.

His comments also follow earlier club media discussions covered by SoftFootball in which he explained why he wears the number 6 shirt. Speaking in a post shared by the club’s official X account, the left-back said he has quickly learnt how demanding the league can be.

He stated:

Every game in the Premier League is tough. You have to be 100 per cent focused every game because everyone can beat everyone.

Kerkez added that the win against Inter Milan in midweek has given the squad the confidence they need heading into the weekend.

He said:

After the Inter game we will be ready physically and mentally, and obviously we play at home. It will be an important three points.

Kerkez described the San Siro win as a boost at the right time. Inter had been unbeaten, and he felt overcoming them restored belief.

He said:

It was important for confidence. Big games are coming, and we are really close together. It is a good group.

The defender also admitted that the squad knows recent Premier League results have not met their standards.

He stressed:

We want to turn things around, and I want it a lot. Everyone wants to. We have to do it.

Asked about adapting to the rhythm of Liverpool’s schedule, Kerkez said this is the first time he has played every three days. He welcomed the rotation with Andy Robertson, calling it healthy competition.

He said:

We are pushing each other a lot. I am learning a lot from him.

Kerkez also highlighted how much he values strong rivals for his position in a video shared by the club’s official X account.

On the defensive improvements, he praised the group for recent clean sheets and the work being done in training and video sessions to build chemistry. He also spoke highly of Dominik Szoboszlai’s influence, describing him as a key figure both on and off the pitch.
