Real Madrid maintained their perfect start to the 2025/26 LaLiga season with a 3-0 win over Real Oviedo at the Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Kylian Mbappé struck twice before Vinícius Júnior sealed the result in stoppage time, extending Los Blancos’ unbeaten run against Oviedo to seven matches.

Xabi Alonso’s side entered the game full of confidence after their opening-day victory over Osasuna, though the Madrid coach surprised many by starting Vinícius on the bench. His replacement, Rodrygo, was the first to test goalkeeper Aarón Escandell with a low drive, while Franco Mastantuono also went close but fired over.
Oviedo, meanwhile, offered a brief warning when Leander Dendoncker attempted a clever lob over Thibaut Courtois, only for the Belgian to collect comfortably.

The deadlock was broken in the 38th minute after Arda Güler pounced on a turnover and slipped the ball into Mbappé, who spun sharply and fired home to put Madrid ahead. The Frenchman was quiet for much of the second half but came alive again in the 83rd minute, finishing calmly after being set up by Vinícius, who had come off the bench to make an impact.

Real Madrid excitedly posted a video of Kylian Mbappe celebrating his first goal via their official X handle.

Softfootball reports that any lingering hopes for Oviedo were dashed in stoppage time when Brahim Díaz surged forward and laid the ball off for Vinícius, who slotted past Escandell to complete the 3-0 scoreline.
For Alonso, the victory marked a second straight win to begin his LaLiga tenure, with Madrid now on six points from two matches and yet to concede a goal. Oviedo, meanwhile, remain without a point or a goal in their return to Spain’s top flight, though coach Veljko Paunović will take encouragement from his side’s spells of possession and determination against the league giants.
