Mathys Tel Transfer to Man United Collapses

Mathys Tel will not be making a move to Manchester United this winter after talks with Bayern Munich broke down, according to reports.

The 19-year-old forward, who has expressed his desire to leave the German club, has been on the radar of multiple Premier League teams.

United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham all showed interest in signing Tel, but he turned down both Spurs and the Blues. Initial speculation suggested he was most open to joining Ruben Amorim’s squad, but fresh reports from France indicate that the transfer is now off the table.

RMC Sport claims that negotiations between Bayern and United have collapsed, ruling out an Old Trafford switch for the French attacker.

This adds to a difficult weekend for United, who suffered a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace and may have lost Lisandro Martinez to a serious injury.

With Spurs and Chelsea already rejected and United out of the race, Arsenal could now intensify their pursuit.

Mikel Arteta is eager to strengthen his attack, and the Gunners’ ability to offer Champions League football and a Premier League title challenge makes them an attractive option.

Tel, who grew up idolizing Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, has struggled for consistent playing time since Vincent Kompany took over as Bayern’s head coach. As a result, he is keen to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Bayern signed Tel from Rennes in 2022 for £24 million. The France U21 international is a versatile attacker, primarily playing as a left winger but also capable of operating on the right or as a center-forward.
