Massimiliano Allegri is set to become the new Napoli manager, following Antonio Conte’s decision to leave SSC Napoli at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Softfootball had earlier reported on Monday, 25 May 2026, that Allegri was sacked by AC Milan, along with CEO Furlani, Director Igli Tare, and Chief Scout Geoffrey Moncada, after the club failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
With Conte stepping away from Napoli, the club moved quickly to secure Allegri as his replacement, marking a major managerial shift ahead of the new season.
On the other hand, Antonio Conte’s next club remains unknown. There were strong rumours linking him with the Italy national team job, but Conte has publicly denied any agreement with the federation. He expressed surprise at the growing reports, insisting there is “no agreement of any kind” regarding a return to the Azzurri.
